Through Sage Spice Lab, I want to share my cooking philosophy which emphasizes using spices and herbs not only to enhance flavor but also to incorporate healing ingredients.
After many years working in marketing at Wells Fargo and Travelocity, I decided to turn my love of cooking into a career. I graduated from the culinary program at Tante Marie’s Cooking School and began cooking at Insalata’s while also teaching at Tante Marie’s. Under Heidi Krahling’s guidance, I learned to balance flavors and textures with bold spices and fresh ingredients. I continued to hone my skills at the Presidio’s farmer’s market-driven restaurant, Desiree Cafe, under Annie Gingrass (of Spago, Postrio and Hawthorne Lane).
I’ve put on many chef’s hats, in addition to working the line, from cooking teacher to soup business operator to recipe developer. Through all these experiences, I’ve realized that I want to help people cook and eat healthy food without compromising flavor or time.
